William "Billy" R. Becher is a notable figure in baseball, particularly recognized for his collegiate career and his time in minor league baseball. Born on March 8, 1982, in Mesa, Arizona, he played as a first baseman and leftfielder, batting left-handed and throwing right-handed. He stands at 6 feet 4 inches and weighs 230 pounds.

Becher achieved significant accolades during his time at New Mexico State University. He was twice named first-team All-America and set Aggie records, including leading the NCAA in home runs with 32 in 2003. In 2003, he was also recognized as the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year.

He was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 18th round of the 2003 MLB June Amateur Draft and by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 22nd round of the 2004 MLB June Amateur Draft. Becher played three seasons in the minor leagues.
