“Bob” Boehlow was the dominating figure in the 1953 City championship series. A hard-throwing right-handed pitcher with an exceptional curve, Boehlow won four games in those eliminations.
Boehlow began his career with the Arkansas A&M College in the Marine V-12 program. He then went to play for the University of Missouri, where he gained Big Eight Conference honors. He pitched Carter Carburetor to two pennants and the Hoffmeister Undertakers to three league titles and a City championship.
Bob Boehlow also coached varsity baseball at Riverview High School for six years and University City High for five years.
