Mark was a powerful right-handed pitcher who signed with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1982 and played for their farm teams in Johnson City, Tennessee and Gastonia, North Carolina.

He spent four seasons pitching Lindbergh High School and went on to become a pivotal player for Ric Lessman’s dominant Meramec Community College teams in 1977 and 1978. Forchee was a starting pitcher on the 1978 Meramec team that finished third at the JUCO national tournament at Grand Junction, Colorado. He went on to pitch for Tulsa University in 1979-80. During those same years, he also pitched for the Royals in the St. Louis Metro Collegiate League.

Forchee was a pitcher for the Valmeyer Lakers in 1981 and then again from 1983 to 1989. He was selected to the Mon-Clair League All-Star team in 1981 and in 1984, Forchee was named MVP of the Valmeyer Mid-Summer Classic Tournament. In 2014, Mark was inducted into the Mon-Clair Baseball League Hall of Fame.
