Jett was an infielder and catcher who spent 25 years in the Eastern Missouri Baseball Association from 1974 to 1998. He was on nine league championship teams. He was selected for twelve EMBA all-star games. Jett played for the O'Fallon Colts from 1974 to 1977, helping his team win the league championship in 1974 and 1975. He was on the Roy Cox Reality team that won the league championship in 1979. He played for Cox from 1978 to 1986, and was a player / manager in 1985 and 1986. He was a player/ manager for the Mavericks from 1987 to 1990. In 1987, the Mavericks won the league championship and the Little World Series. From 1991 to 1993, Jett was a player/manager for the Big A's, guiding his team to the league title in 1991. He was an infielder and catcher for Cottleville & Harvester in 1994 and 1995. His C&H team won the league championship both years and the Little World Series in 1994. He played for St. Peters from 1996 to 1998, and his team won the league title in 1997 and 1998.
Jett was president of the Eastern Missouri Baseball Association for ten years.
He managed the St. Charles Post 312 American Legion team from 1998 to 2007, winning seven division championships and four district titles. He was the assistant coach in 1994 and 1995, and he managed the junior team in 1992 and 1993.
Jett was president of the American Legion District 9 baseball program for ten years from 2001 to 2010. Since 2007, he has been an administrator for American Legion Post 312 in St. Charles.
He played for St. Charles High School from 1972 to 1974 and was team captain his senior year.
In 2012, Jett was inducted into the St. Charles County Amateur Sports Hall of Fame.
